1 Female Killed, 1 Wounded in Boyle Heights Shooting

BOYLE HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES, July 16 (KNN) — One female was killed and one female wounded in a shooting in the Boyle Heights neighborhood within Los Angeles Sunday night.

Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollenbeck Division units responded to a shooting around 10:45 p.m. on the 100 block of South Gless Street with two female victims down.

The females were standing in front of the location when two males armed with handguns approached and opened fire striking both victims, according Officer Drake Madison with LAPD Media Relations Division.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced a 25-year-old female deceased at the scene, reported Madison. The second victim, a 21-year-old female, was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The shooting is believed to be a targeted attack and gang related, according to the LAPD.

The suspects fled the location. There is no additional information at this time.
