1 Gunshot Victim Located After Daytime Shooting Involves Multiple Vehicles

LANCASTER, CA, Aug. 27 (KNN) — One gunshot victim was located by authorities after what appeared to be a shooting in broad daylight involving multiple vehicles in the city of Lancaster.

Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lancaster Station responded to the intersection of West Avenue I and 10th Street West for reports of shots fired shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday.

Upon arrival, deputies located numerous shell casings and at least two vehicles that had been struck by gunfire in the parking lot of the shopping center on the northeast corner of the intersection.

Upon further investigation, deputies learned that another vehicle had somehow been involved and had fled the scene of the shooting heading westbound. Moments later, deputies located the vehicle that had been described traveling southbound on 20th Street West Near Avenue J.

When deputies initiated a traffic stop, they located at least one gunshot victim in the passenger side of the vehicle.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the location and transported the victim to a local area hospital in unknown condition.

The number of victims and suspects involved in this incident is not known at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
