1 Injured, Suspects Flee After Pursuit Vehicle Crashes

SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES, June 22 (KNN) – One suspect is in custody, one is currently outstanding, and one person was injured after a pursuit ended in a traffic collision off the 405 Freeway in Sherman Oaks.

At approximately 11:40 p.m. Thursday, the California Highway Patrol was attempting to pull over a high-speed vehicle traveling at speeds over 100 mph on the 101 Freeway at the transition to the 405 Freeway.

CHP initiated a pursuit after the vehicle refused to pull over. About two minutes after the pursuit began, the vehicle exited Valley Vista off the southbound 405 Freeway where the vehicle crashed and the suspects fled on foot.

One suspect was caught a couple of blocks away near Ventura and Sepulveda Boulevards. One person was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition and one suspect is outstanding as of 12:50 a.m. Friday.

According to information gathered at the scene, the person transported to the hospital was possibly a passenger in the pursuit vehicle. It was unclear who the other two individuals were siting curbside with the injured party as seen in Key News Network video from the scene.

There are no further details at this time.
