1 Killed in 2-Vehicle Lake Balboa Crash

Lake Balboa, Los Angeles, CA: One person was killed, two were in critical condition following a violent two-vehicle traffic collision early Wednesday morning, Feb. 8, in the Lake Balboa neighborhood within the San Fernando Valley.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene of a two-vehicle collision around 3:46 a.m. on the 6400 block of North Balboa Boulevard where a total of three patients were located; two were found trapped in the wreckage and the third patient was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics, according to LAFD.

Firefighters freed the trapped patients who were then transported by LAFD paramedics to a regional trauma center in critical condition, reported LAFD.

A large sign for multiple businesses at a strip mall was almost toppled to the ground from the impact of the crash, as seen in Key News Network video from the location. Debris from the collision was observed scattered on the sidewalk and throughout the roadway.

Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division is investigating the fatal traffic collision.
