1 Killed in Crash Involving Parked Semi-Truck on 60 Freeway in Pomona

POMONA, Calif., Dec. 7 (KNN) — A traffic collision involving two semi-trucks and a passenger vehicle on the eastbound 60 Freeway near Phillips Ranch Road left one person dead and another injured late Friday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers from the CHP Baldwin Park Area office responded to the scene of the second crash on the 60 Freeway, which occurred after a car collided with a semi-truck. The passenger in the car lost an arm due to the impact. Moments later, a second semi-truck struck the vehicle, authorities said.

Firefighters and paramedics pronounced one individual dead at the scene. Another patient was transported to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition.

During the investigation, only the carpool lane remained open on the eastbound 60 Freeway, causing significant traffic delays.

The CHP is continuing to investigate the incident.
