SANTA PAULA, Calif., Sept. 3 (KNN) — A driver was killed in a rollover crash early Sunday on the 126 Freeway in Santa Paula.
California Highway Patrol’s Ventura officers and Ventura County and City Fire Departments responded to reports of a solo-vehicle rollover crash on the eastbound 126 Freeway at the Briggs Road off-ramp shortly before 3 a.m.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they located a Volkswagen hatchback with major damage.
The vehicle appeared to have lost control in lanes and veered off onto the off-ramp. It struck a light pole and rolled over before landing right side up next to a tree.
The sole occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to CHP off-camera at the scene, the vehicle traveled at speeds of more than 100 mph before the crash.
There are no further details.
