1 Killed, Vehicle Mangled in Collision Involving Semi Truck on 60 Freeway

Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles County, CA: A freeway traffic collision involving a semi truck and vehicle left one person deceased at the scene early Saturday morning in the Hacienda Heights area of Los Angeles County.

California Highway Patrol officers from the Santa Fe Springs Station along with Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving a semi truck westbound 60 Freeway at Hacienda Boulevard around 1:30 a.m., Nov. 19.

Once CHP and firefighters arrived on scene, they located one mangled vehicle and a semi truck on the right shoulder of the westbound 60 Freeway with damage in the middle and right side of the front end.

LACoFD along with paramedics pronounced one person dead inside the vehicle at the scene.

The driver of the semi truck was assessed at the scene by paramedics and was not transported to a hospital.

CHP had only the carpool lane and the #1 lane open for traffic during cleanup and investigation of the incident.

It is not known at this time how the crash occurred. The cause is under investigation.
