1 Male, 1 Female Shot in Los Angeles Neighborhood

Broadway-Manchester, Los Angeles, CA: Los Angeles Police Department Southeast Division officers along with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of a shooting early Thursday morning at the intersection of Main Street and Imperial Highway in the Broadway-Manchester neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Officers arrived at the scene and located two victims, one man and one woman, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local area hospital in unknown conditions.

Approximately 40 bullet casings were seen on Main Street, north of Imperial Highway.

While officers were conducting their shooting investigation, an officer observed a possible suspect at a business on Main near the shooting scene.

Officers quickly established a perimeter, requested an airship and conducted multiple call outs to the address, but as of 1:34 a.m., Mar. 9, they had not made entry.

Officer Drake Madison with LAPD Media Relations Division responded to Key News Network’s inquiry regarding additional details of the shooting. Madison said the shooting occurred around 12:45 a.m., Mar.9, in the 11300 block of South Main Street. A 45-year-old male and 43-year-old female were standing in front of the location when they observed a male suspect standing across the street firing multiple rounds. Both victims were struck by gunfire and both were transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

There was no additional information regarding the suspect.
