1 Male Killed in Glassell Park Double Shooting

GLASSELL PARK, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 25 (KNN) – Two males were shot, one fatally, in the Glassell Park neighborhood of Los Angeles early Sunday morning.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Northeast Division patrol officers responded to the Verdugo Bar located in the 3400 block of Verdugo Road shortly before 2 a.m. for reports of a shooting involving two victims.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located one gunshot victim deceased and another reportedly shot in the leg.

According to the LAPD, the suspect male Hispanic and two male Hispanic victims were involved in a verbal altercation at the location. During the dispute, both victims were struck by gunfire. The suspect fled the location.

The first victim died at the scene and the second victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, said Officer Cervantes with LAPD’s Media Relations.

Bullet casings observed in the street were marked by officers at the scene.

The incident is gang related, according to the LAPD.
