HIGHLAND PARK, LOS ANGELES, Aug. 27 (KNN) — One person was shot during a carjacking/armed robbery at the intersection of Marmion Way and North Figueroa Street in Highland Park overnight.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Northeast Division officers responded to the intersection shortly after midnight Tuesday and located three casings in the crosswalk. A possible suspect was seen in the 300 block of West Avenue 37, where a blocks-wide perimeter was established by police.
A victim from the carjacking called authorities and reported they had been shot and drove to the Food4Less located in the 5100 block of North Figueroa Street.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and located the victim in a green pickup truck with multiple bullet holes in the front of the vehicle.
No suspect information is known at this time. LAPD’s Northeast Division is handling the investigation.
An unknown person was detained at the Food4Less, but it is not believed that they are the shooter at this time. The condition of the victim was not immediately known.
