1 Trapped After 2-Vehicle Traffic Collision in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, Kern County, CA: Firefighters rescued a trapped victim involved in a two-vehicle traffic collision in the city of Bakersfield Sunday night, Dec. 11.

At approximately 10:22 p.m., a two-vehicle crash was reported with a possible fatality on South Union Avenue and Watts Road.

When California Highway Patrol arrived at the location, they determined it was a major injury traffic collision with no fatalities. One vehicle sustained major front end damage and the other was severely impacted on the driver side trapping a victim.

Bakersfield firefighters worked to extricate the patient pinned inside the vehicle, who was then transported to a nearby hospital.

The subject in the other vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated with CHP.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
