Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, CA: One person was trapped inside a vehicle and then rescued by responding firefighters following a crash into a building late Wednesday night.
The Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to reports of a traffic collision with a person trapped just before 10 p.m., May 24, on the 300 block of North Chautauqua Boulevard in the westside neighborhood of Pacific Palisades.
Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free one person from a vehicle that flew off the roadway into a ditch, striking a building.
LAFD Urban Search and Rescue and Heavy Rescue used a crane to bring the car back up onto the street.
The patient was transported in unknown condition to a local hospital.
Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety responded and inspected the building.
The Los Angeles Police Department also received reports of the same vehicle striking a bus bench and sign on Sunset Boulevard. Curbside debris and a broken bench, along with roadway skid marks were captured on video by Key News Network at that location.
