12-Year-Old Killed in South Los Angeles Multi-Vehicle Crash

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, July 6 (KNN) — A 12-year-old succumbed to injuries resulting from a multi-vehicle traffic collision Friday evening that also left others injured and one driver trapped.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a three-vehicle crash around 6:18 p.m. in the 600 block of East Century Boulevard in the Green Meadows neighborhood within South Los Angeles.

Upon arrival, firefighters located a total of 10 injured patients – six adults and four juveniles. One driver was found trapped inside one of the vehicles and was extricated by fire department personnel.

That rescued female adult driver was transported in serious condition to a local hospital. All others escaped their vehicles on their own, according to LAFD spokesperson Nicholas Prange.

Five other adults were transported in fair condition and three juveniles were transported in moderate condition from the scene to a local hospital.

The remaining juvenile – a 12-year-old female – died at the scene of the crash, according to Prange. A total of nine patients were transported.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
