DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Jan. 23 (KNN) — A 19-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound after police responded to a shooting overnight in downtown Los Angeles.

LAPD’s Central Division units responded to a radio call of a shooting around 12:18 a.m. Thursday in the 700 block of South Spring Street, according to authorities.
When officers arrived at an apartment building at the reported address, they located one male victim on the sixth floor suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. A spokesperson for the LAPD told Key News Network that three other adult witnesses were present; however, no information was obtained from them regarding the shooting.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the wounded male to a local hospital. According to the LAPD spokesperson, the victim was in stable condition.
Initial reports per LAPD at the scene stated that the unit where the shooting occurred was sublet as an Airbnb, though unconfirmed. The LAPD spokesperson told KNN he could not confirm that information.
An investigation into the shooting is underway. There are no further details.
