Baldwin Park PD and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a 911 call at approximately 6:48 pm. regarding a disturbance in the neighborhood on the 4700 block of Bogart Avenue.

Per the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau press release, a total of two females and one male were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Lieutenant Michael Modica with the LASD Homicide Bureau said that all three victims suffered multiple stab wounds to the upper body and were found inside a residence. The ages of the victims are unavailable at this time.

According to Modica, one person was seen by arriving officers entering a vehicle in the driveway of the location for a call of service. At that time, that person accelerated rapidly out of the driveway and then crashed within the cul-de-sac. The individual was detained as a person of interest.

This incident does not pose a threat to the community.

“Given the facts that we know so far, even though it’s very early on, it’s safe to say this was not a random act of violence,” said Modica. The association and relationship of the person of interest to the victims is unknown at this time and will be determined at some point during the investigation.

On Friday, Dec. 27, the LASD SIB updated the incident, stating the circumstances surrounding the murder of three victims continue to be investigated.

The person of interest who was detained at the start of the investigation has now been arrested and identified by detectives as a 23-year-old Asian male who was booked at Baldwin Park Police Department for murder. It was determined during the investigation that the suspect was related to the victims and resided at the location.

According to the LASD, the investigation is ongoing and will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for their consideration of filing charges.

Further information will be available after the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office reviews the case.

“Out of respect for the family of the victims, the exact relationships will not be released at this time. The identity and cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner,” an LASD statement read.
