2 Hospitalized After Head-On Traffic Collision in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, Kern County, CA: Two people were hospitalized after a head-on traffic collision late Sunday night.

The collision was reported around 11:30 p.m., May 14, on Virginia and Bates Avenue, according to California Highway Patrol Officer H. Baza with the Bakersfield area office, interviewed at the scene by Key News Network.

Upon arrival, CHP officers found two vehicles with front end damage that appeared to be in a head-on collision according to witnesses that called in to report the crash, according to Baza.

The Kern County Fire Department responded to the scene to treat the patients.

Two parties from two separate cars, were transported by ambulance to a local hospital; one was not conscious but breathing, and the other party had possibly suffered broken bones, according to Baza.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
