2 Killed After SUV Slams into Wall

East Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA: Two people were killed and one injured when an SUV slammed into a wall early Friday morning, Mar. 4, in East Los Angeles.

At approximately 12:47 a.m., a 2004 GMC Yukon collided into a raised concrete curb on I-710 Northbound to the Valley Boulevard off-ramp at a high rate of speed, then continued in a northerly direction and collided into a recycling center wall, according to the California Highway Patrol report.

The male driver and front male passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters, according to CHP. A third male occupant was transported to USC Medical Center with major injuries. Alhambra Police Department as well as Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the scene.

LAFD is seen on Key News Network video from the scene working on extrication.

CHP reported both deceased parties have been positively identified by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, but names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

CHP is investigating the cause of the collision.
