VERMONT SQUARE, LOS ANGELES, Jan. 28 (KNN) — A stolen vehicle pursuit terminated in a traffic collision that left two Los Angeles Police Department officers injured and three suspects in custody in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Vermont Square.
The LAPD’s Southwest Division units were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle when an officer-involved collision occurred shortly after midnight at the intersection of Hoover Street and 41st Drive, according to authorities.
The two officers in a Crown Victoria police vehicle were transported to the hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics with unknown injuries.
The LAPD confirmed initial reports that one of the officers was trapped inside the police vehicle due to significant collision damage to the passenger side door.
KNN spoke with LAPD Spokesperson Officer Chavez later Tuesday morning, who said the officers were in stable condition.
According to Chavez, three suspects are in custody; the driver was arrested for felony evading, and the two passengers were arrested for stealing a vehicle and resisting arrest.
