The California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving two semi trucks and one Mercedes SUV shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday morning in Agoura Hills.

Initial reports stated a Mercedes SUV was stalled in the slow lane of the 101 when one semi truck swerved and jackknifed to avoid hitting the vehicle.

One person was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition after being trapped inside the Mercedes. The conditions of the semi drivers are unknown.

Four lanes of 101 Freeway westbound were closed at the time of the collision.

A woman who identified herself as Kerry, was flagged down and alerted to the collision on her way home from visiting a friend. She spoke to Key News Network on camera regarding the incident.

Kerry was told there had been an accident and she saw that there was a semi and SUV involved with a gentleman trapped inside the SUV. Kerry said she got onto the freeway and parked down the road and went to see if she could help. She told the trapped victim to stay still, and as that was happening, another semi came down the freeway, could not stop in time and went through the back end of the Amazon semi truck. Kerry said that driver walked away with only one shoe missing.

“Thankfully he’s alive,” said Kerry, who witnessed only the second collision, not the initial one between the first semi and stalled SUV.
