2 Wounded in Shooting at Downtown Los Angeles Target Store

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 31 (KNN) — At least two people were injured when shots were fired at a Target store in downtown Los Angeles late Monday evening.

Shortly before 9 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division officers responded to a call of a shooting at the Target store located at the FIGat7th shopping center at 735 S. Figueroa Street. A spokesperson for the LAPD told KNN this was not an active shooter incident.

According to the LAPD spokesperson, there were a total of two gunshot victims – a security guard and one other person. They were both transported to a local hospital; one is in stable condition, and the other is critical.

The suspect is a white male with curly hair, wearing a black coat and gray sweats at the time of the shooting, according to the LAPD. He fled in an unknown direction.

LAPD officers remained at the scene for the investigation.
