Santa Clarita, CA: A 21-year-old male was arrested in Santa Clarita in connection with the November assault of a man in his 70s.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station spokesperson Deputy Natalie Arriaga explained on camera the details of the case and the suspect’s arrest.
A Ring doorbell caught the shocking incident showing a man in his 70s being assaulted following a confrontation outside a Saugus home.
The incident occurred on Nov. 29, 2022, shortly after 7:30 p.m. when the man was visiting family on the 22100 block of Barrington Way in Saugus, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Deputy Natalie Arriaga.
About 15 to 20 minutes before the assault, a Toyota Prius almost collided with the man’s vehicle, Arriaga confirmed. That’s where this all began.
At 7:35 p.m., Ring doorbell footage shows three people, two young men and a young woman approach the door to the residence. The victim heard a knock at the door and proceeded to answer it, Arriaga said.
One of the young men asked the victim whose vehicle was parked in front of the location and the victim explained the vehicle was his and proceeded to exit the location to move it.
Video shows the young male accusing the older man of almost striking his girlfriend’s car to which the man denies and explains that the young woman almost hit his car.
At this point, the older man attempted to walk past the two young men and the young woman to move his vehicle.
“Upon doing so, he was struck from behind and fell to the ground,” Arriaga said.
The video shows the two young men and woman leave the scene on foot and disappear from the camera’s viewing angle.
The fall caused the victim to break a rib and caused additional injuries to his upper torso and leg, according to family members.
Adriano Anzuini, 21, of Santa Clarita, turned himself into the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station on Dec. 14, and has remained cooperative with detectives at this time. He has been booked for felony battery with likely to cause great bodily injury, as well as elder abuse, according to Arriaga.
The investigation remains ongoing.
