Monrovia, Los Angeles County, CA: A violent multi-vehicle freeway crash that involved an Amazon semi, left at least two victims injured at the scene and some scattered Amazon packages stolen early Saturday morning.
The California Highway Patrol and Monrovia Fire Department received multiple 911 calls just before 2 a.m., June 3, regarding a multi-vehicle traffic collision involving an Amazon semi-truck that crashed into the sound wall on the right side of the westbound 210 Freeway at South Myrtle Avenue in the city of Monrovia.
Upon arrival at the location, CHP officers and firefighters found one victim who was possibly ejected from a vehicle and landed in the carpool lane. A total of two people were transported to a local hospital including the female who was driving the semi-truck.
Packages inside the severely damaged semi, tumbled out down a hillside on the other side of the destroyed wall. People from the street below the wall were observed stealing the scattered Amazon packages.
Monrovia PD officers responded to the street below the freeway to watch over the remaining packages. The number of Amazon packages stolen is currently unknown.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
