24 Shots Fired in Santa Clarita Neighborhood Shooting

SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Apr. 11 (KNN) — Deputies are actively investigating a shooting in the residential Newhall area of Santa Clarita that resulted in more than 20 shots fired.

The incident occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on the 22300 block of Second Street, east of Arch Street, outside several homes.

Units from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station arrived to the scene and found about two dozen shell casings in the middle of the street.

It’s unknown at this time what the motivation was behind the shooting or any suspect information — but it is believed a home was targeted in the spree.

The shooting remains under investigation at this time.
