The fatal traffic collision with injuries occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of East Graves Avenue in the city of Monterey Park.

Once Monterey Park police officers and firefighters arrived at the scene, they initially located one black SUV with three people trapped inside and one person ejected who landed onto the roof of a home. Two vehicles in the driveway of the residence sustained major damage.

The driver who was possibly driving under the influence, was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition along with an 8-year-old with unknown injuries. A total of three people were pronounced deceased at the scene, according to Monterey Park officials off camera at the location.

Sabrina, a resident in the neighborhood from down the street of the incident, told KNN on camera that she heard screeching of brakes and then a loud bang. She went up the hill to the location of the crash and saw a rolled over vehicle.

Over the past three years since Sabrina has lived in the neighborhood, there have been at least five crashes.

According to Sabrina, the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed.
