3 Major Pomona Underpasses Close Due to Heavy Rainstorm Flooding

POMONA, Calif., Feb. 5 (KNN) — The significant rainstorm pounding the SoCal area that began on Sunday, left three of the five major underpasses that run through the city of Pomona flooded and closed to traffic.

Key News Network video from the locations at approximately 1:30 a.m., shows a massive amount of water in each of the underpasses.

The first one in the video is at Towne Avenue and Monterey Avenue, the second at Garey Avenue and Monterey and the third is at White Avenue and Monterey.

The standing flood water, a danger to motorists and pedestrians, prompted authorities to close access to the three underpasses.

With the rainstorm predicted to continue for at least another day or two, it is unknown at this time when the underpasses will reopen. It is also unclear if the closings will impact the response time for the Pomona Police Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
