PHOENIX, Ariz., Feb. 2 (KNN) – On Feb. 1, 2025, around 6 p.m., hundreds assembled at the intersection of 35th Avenue and Thomas Road in Phoenix to protest immigration enforcement and the Trump administration.
Protesters blocked traffic for an estimated 30 minutes. Officers issued several commands to the group and ordered all to exit the street.
At one point, multiple demonstrators hurled water bottles at police in riot gear. Officers responded by deploying pepper balls in the direction of the crowd. It is unknown if any arrests have been made. Protesters have since exited the roadway. The group is expected to remain on the scene late into the night.
Phoenix police officers staged nearby, closely monitoring the situation.
