4 Killed in Violent Pursuit Crash in Upland

UPLAND, Calif., June 28 (KNN) — A vehicle pursuit ended in a violent crash that left four people dead in the city of Upland early Friday morning.

The Upland Police Department was assisting the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department who were in pursuit of a vehicle when a major traffic collision occurred at West 16th Street and North Mountain Avenue shortly before 2 a.m.

Four people were pronounced deceased at the scene, per a San Bernardino County Fire Department Battalion Chief.

It is not known at this time if any other victims were transported to a hospital.

One vehicle was observed cut in half due to the impact of the crash. It is unclear at this time which vehicle the sheriff’s deputies were pursuing before the violent traffic collision ended the chase.

Upland police officers along with sheriff’s deputies had all streets around the crash scene closed and all traffic was being diverted.

No other information has been released at this time due to the ongoing investigation into the fatal pursuit crash.
