SANTA CLARITA, CA, Aug. 15 (KNN) — A Los Angeles County Fire engine rolling to a call slammed into a wall, sending two firefighters to a trauma center — all part of an effort to avoid another vehicle in their path.
The crash took place at the intersection of Whites Canyon Road and Nadal Street shortly before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the city of Santa Clarita’s Canyon Country community.
Two firefighters were transported to a hospital in unknown condition.
Investigators are looking into if the engine ran a red light as another vehicle entered the intersection on a green light.
The engine subsequently slammed into a residential wall, destroying the front of the emergency vehicle and the wall.
The crash remains under investigation.
