The Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division patrol officers responded to the 12000 block of Saticoy Street around 11:11 p.m. for an assault with a deadly weapon call, according to Officer Cervantes with LAPD Media Relations.

Upon arrival, officers were directed to a male Hispanic victim who had sustained stab wounds. A male Hispanic suspect who remained at the scene was detained by officers pending further investigation, according to Cervantes.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

There appeared to have been some sort of altercation at the scene prior to the fatal stabbing allegedly involving a female victim. According to some witnesses, a suspect was seen by a good Samaritan pulling a female into a shed as if they were being kidnapped, at which point the good Samaritan stabbed the suspect to death. However, those statements have not been confirmed by the LAPD as of Friday afternoon.

The incident remains under active investigation.
