Hurricane Hilary Impacts Cabo San Lucas With High Surf, Winds

CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO, Aug. 19 (KNN) — Hurricane Hilary impacted Cabo San Lucas with high surf and strong winds as shown in video from the location around 12 p.m. Saturday.

Tourist Rick Mendoza spoke on camera about what it was like as his voice was partially muffled by the relentless windy conditions.

Hurricane Hilary is making its way to Southern California where residents have been preparing for flooding with sandbags and grocery shopping for last minute items.

Power crews are on alert for potential outages usually caused by downed trees and broken branches during wind events.

There are flash flood warnings for parts of the Southland. Hurricane Hilary, which is now categorized as a tropical storm, will impact the Southland on Sunday and continue into Monday.

The storm is due to clear out of the Southland by Tuesday, according to local weather forecasts.
