Tropical Storm Floods Roadways, Stalls Vehicles in Sun Valley

SUN VALLEY, LOS ANGELES, AUG. 21 (KNN) — Neighborhoods in the San Fernando Valley were just a few of the many areas within the Southland hard hit by Tropical Storm Hilary on Sunday.

By around 8 p.m., many streets within the Sun Valley neighborhood were flooded from the storm.

Multiple vehicles were trapped in a water-filled roadway on Sherman Way near Laurel Canyon Boulevard as seen in Key News Network video from the location.

Intersections near La Tuna Canyon and Glen Oaks were also flooded, resembling rushing rivers.

The storm is due to move through the Southland overnight with scattered showers remaining on Monday, according to multiple weather forecasts.
