Suspected DUI Driver Arrested After Flying Off 101 Freeway

VENTURA, CA, Aug. 21 (KNN) — A driver is in custody on suspicion of DUI after crashing approximately 100 feet off the 101 Freeway.

California Highway Patrol’s Ventura officers responded to reports of a vehicle that had rolled over into a ditch early Monday morning on the northbound 101 Freeway just south of Seaward Avenue in the city of Ventura.

When officers arrived on scene around 1:41 a.m., they located the vehicle 100 feet down an embankment on its wheels.

Both the driver and the passenger were evaluated at the scene by Ventura City Fire Department personnel.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of DU at the scene.

Slick roads, speed and possibly alcohol, may have been factors that led to the crash.
