Multiple Vehicles Burn in Greater Alarm Commercial Structure Fire

PACOIMA, LOS ANGELES, Aug. 22 (KNN) — An auto yard was ablaze early Tuesday morning prompting a response from the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched shortly after 3:30 a.m. to the 9800 block of North San Fernando Road in Pacoima where a one-story commercial structure was found burning. At that point, two additional task forces were requested to battle the blaze, according to the LAFD. Multiple vehicles were located fully involved in flames inside the structure.

Shortly after 4 a.m., the blaze was updated to a Greater Alarm incident. The LAFD reported challenges with water supply at hydrants and firefighters worked to establish alternate supplies.

The LAFD reported knockdown shortly before 6 a.m. with over 100 firefighters on scene.

A portion of the LAFD resources remained on scene throughout the morning for extensive overhaul utilizing heavy equipment, according to LAFD spokesperson Margaret Stewart.

There were no reported injuries.
