Man With Sword Detained at Los Angeles Convention Center

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 30 (KNN) — A man seen with a sword late Wednesday night in Downtown Los Angeles was detained by police, then subsequently released with a citation.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division units responded around 10:47 p.m. to the Los Angeles Convention Center after receiving reports from on-site security that there was a man swinging a sword on the property.

When units arrived on scene, they were directed by security to a stairwell where the suspect was last seen.

The suspect was contacted by officers and taken into custody without further incident.

Officers cited and released the suspect who then proceeded to generate many calls for service from concerned citizens in the area.
