Police Evacuate Church in Pomona Due to Bomb Threat

POMONA, CA, Aug. 30 (KNN) — A bomb threat involving a church in the city of Pomona Wednesday night prompted immediate police response and evacuation of the building.

Pomona police officers and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a bomb threat shortly after 10 p.m. at the Christ Citadel International Church Pomona in the 600 block of North Park Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers immediately evacuated the church. In Key News Network video from the location, multiple vehicles with families are seen leaving the parking lot.

Pomona PD shut down both north and southbound lanes of North Park Avenue due to the bomb threat.

It was not immediately clear if the church received threats or if they located a suspicious package on the property.

After approximately 30 to 45 minutes, Pomona PD cleared the tape that cordoned off the scene. However, officers remained at the location.

Pomona PD has not released any details regarding the incident due to the ongoing investigation.
