Pedestrian With Dog Both Fatally Struck by Metrolink Train

SANTA CLARITA, Sept. 4 (KNN) — A pedestrian, believed to be a teen, and his dog were both hit and killed by a passing Metrolink commuter train at a busy Santa Clarita intersection Monday evening.

The collision was reported at about 6:52 p.m. at the southern end of the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Ruether Avenue.

A Metrolink train heading east between the Santa Clarita and Via Princessa stations hit the pedestrian who was believed to be walking his dog at the time.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County firefighters.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau has been notified of the incident.
