The fatal traffic collision occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. Tuesday on Avalon Boulevard, just north of Compton Boulevard in West Compton.

The fire department was responding to a medical incident down Avalon Boulevard then crossed Compton Boulevard when they were hit on the side from a civilian vehicle. At that point, all four members of the LACoFD crew that were responding to that incident were transported to a local hospital with non-critical injuries, stated Craig Little, Public information Officer with the LACoFD at the scene speaking to the news media.

“Unfortunately, the two members of the civilian vehicle were fatalities,” said PIO Little.

No other vehicles were involved.
