Man Fatally Stabbed at Downtown Los Angeles Metro Station

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Sept. 8 (KNN) — A man was found fatally wounded from a stabbing at a Metro subway station in Downtown Los Angeles Thursday evening.

At approximately 5:18 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department’s Transit officers and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to reports of a stabbing at the Pershing Square Metro Subway Station on the 500 block of South Hill Street.

Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from a stab wound to the upper torso.

The LAFD transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased, the LAPD reported.

The station was closed for an unknown duration due to the investigation.

Police are searching for the suspect who fled the scene. According to the LAPD, the suspect is described as a Black male, thin build, with a mustache and goatee, standing approximately 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black wave cap, black long sleeve shirt, dark colored pants, black shoes and carrying a black Puma backpack.

“Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was on the train when he was approached by the suspect who was armed with a knife.  Without warning or provocation, the suspect stabbed the victim in the upper torso and fled the train on foot,” reported the LAPD in a news release of the fatal incident.
