Train Fatally Strikes Pedestrian in Sylmar

SYLMAR, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 8 (KNN) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in Sylmar late Thursday night.

The Los Angeles Fire Department and police officers responded to a reported traffic collision shortly before 10:30 p.m. on the 12800 block of North San Fernando Road at Bledsoe.

When units arrived, they found a pedestrian that was hit by a train. LAFD personnel determined the pedestrian was beyond medical help and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

The LAPD is investigating the cause of the collision.
