Armed Robbery Involves Exchange of Gunfire at Smoke Shop

TARZANA, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 12 (KNN) — Two suspects along with a getaway driver were outstanding Tuesday morning after an armed robbery at a smoke shop Monday night.

The robbery and exchange of gunfire occurred shortly before 10 p.m. at Smiley’s Smoke and Vape located on the 19000 block of Ventura Boulevard in Tarzana.

An employee in the shop was held at gunpoint by two suspects wearing black ski masks and black hoodies.

The suspects took U.S. currency, according to Officer Drake Madison with Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Division. There is no information of any injuries at this time.

It is unclear at this time when the suspect and victim exchanged gunfire. A pistol was recovered from the smoke shop.

Los Angeles Police Department detectives at the scene stated they are reviewing security camera footage and would not comment on the incident at this time.
