MALIBU, CA, Sept. 17 (KNN) – A violent single-vehicle crash left the driver in need of medical care, a truck cut in half and a fire hydrant sheared early Saturday morning.
Deputies from the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station and Los Angeles County firefighters responded to a solo vehicle crash on Pacific Coast Highway at Nicholas Beach Road shortly before 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
When units arrived on scene, they located a vehicle off the side of the road next to a sheared fire hydrant with an approximate 75-foot geyser.
The vehicle also struck a parked pickup truck which was split in half.
The driver of the vehicle was airlifted to a local trauma center by the fire department in unknown condition.
Speed may have been a factor in the crash.
The Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station is investigating the cause.
