Male Found Fatally Shot on Bike Trail Near Park in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA, Sept. 18 (KNN) — A male was found fatally shot on a bike trail near a park late Monday night in the city of Bakersfield.

Bakersfield Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Empire Drive at Yokuts Park.

Arriving officers located one male suffering from major injuries. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding medical personnel.

Bakersfield PD had the area blocked off for the investigation of the crime scene.

An update will follow if details are made available by BPD during the preliminary investigation.
