Pursuit of Assault With Deadly Weapon Suspect Involving LASD Deputy Ends in Fiery Crash

EAST LOS ANGELES, CA, Sept. 19 (KNN) — East Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputies were in pursuit of a black Porsche that had crashed into one of their patrol units early Tuesday morning around 2:45 a.m.

The suspect led sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit on the eastbound 60 Freeway into the Diamond Bar area where CHP Baldwin Park took over the pursuit.

He traveled the southbound 71 Freeway from the eastbound 60 Freeway into the Chino Hills area.

The suspect then crashed and flipped his black Porsche on the northbound 5 Freeway at the 710 Freeway Interchange. He attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody by CHP.

The suspect’s vehicle caught fire on the 5 Freeway Interchange.

The circumstances of the assault on the deputy’s patrol vehicle were not immediately known at the time of this report.
