Hit-and-Run Hydrant Collision Floods Street in Granada Hills

GRANADA HILLS, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19 (KNN) — A vehicle apparently fled after crashing into a hydrant that gushed water skyward and into a street in Granada Hills late Tuesday night.

The Los Angeles Fire Department and police officers were dispatched to a reported traffic collision shortly after 11:30 p.m. on the 17300 block of Mayerling Street.

When units arrived, they found a sheared hydrant gushing water and flooding the street.

There was no vehicle located at the scene of the damaged hydrant. No injuries were reported.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the incident.
