Hit-and-Run Driver Fatally Strikes Pedestrian

SUN VALLEY, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22 (KNN) — A driver fled the scene of a traffic collision leaving a pedestrian fatally injured.

Los Angeles Police Department officers along with fire department personnel responded to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian around 8:47 p.m. Friday, on the 7800 block of Lankershim Boulevard in Sun Valley.

Arriving Los Angeles firefighters determined the struck pedestrian was beyond medical help and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to initial information at the scene, the driver left the location without stopping or rendering aid to the victim.

LAPD is investigating the fatal incident.
