Blaze Consumes Trees, Threatens Residential Structure in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 30 (KNN) — A row of cypress trees consumed by flames late Friday night threatened a residential structure.

The fire was reported around 10:15 p.m. in the 6900 block of West Waring Avenue in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

When Los Angeles Fire Department crews arrived on scene, they located several large cypress trees fully engulfed in flames up against a residential structure.

People were heard yelling from the street for the residents to get out as flames reached skyward into overhead power lines.

It was not immediately clear how many residents were in the home at the time of the fire, but one patient was transported with unknown injuries to a local hospital.

The flames were knocked down by firefighters in just a few minutes.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
