Firefighters Discover Deceased Victim in Burning Sun Valley RV

SUN VALLEY, LOS ANGELES, Oct. 2 (KNN) — A deceased individual was found as firefighters were in the process of dousing flames consuming a recreational vehicle Monday night.

Los Angeles firefighters responded to the 11800 block of West Strathern Street in the Sun Valley neighborhood within Los Angeles for a reported RV fire shortly after 9 p.m.

Crews arrived quickly to the scene and discovered an RV with heavy fire showing, and as crews were in the process of extinguishing the flames, a lifeless body was discovered in the RV that was beyond medical help, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The victim was determined deceased and remained at the scene for the arrival of the coroner and investigators.

One adult female escaped the burning RV and was treated for burns and smoke inhalation at the scene by firefighter/paramedics, reported the LAFD.

The cause of the fire is under active investigation.
