Los Angeles, CA: California Highway Patrol initiated a pursuit of a high-speed vehicle in Santa Clarita that traveled multiple freeways before culminating in the arrest of the suspect in the San Fernando Valley early Wednesday morning.

The pursuit started in Santa Clarita around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, Apr. 6, where a speeding vehicle caught the attention of CHP going southbound on the 14 Freeway from Placerita Canyon. The suspect vehicle hit speeds over 115 mph.
CHP Newhall units requested CHP West Valley units to take over the pursuit as the vehicle entered the San Fernando Valley. The vehicle traveled on the 14 Freeway southbound to the 5 Freeway southbound then entered the 170 Freeway southbound exiting at Sherman Way making its way back to the northbound 170 Freeway connecting to the 5 Freeway northbound then entered the 405 Freeway southbound exiting Nordhoff where the suspect circled the block before giving up in a driveway of an apartment complex around the area of Parthenia Street and Orion Avenue.
CHP officers took the suspect into custody. The original cause for the pursuit was speed.
