Store Clerk Fatally Shot During Liquor Store Robbery

WEST COVINA, CA, Oct. 9 (KNN) — A clerk was fatally shot during a liquor store robbery late Sunday evening in the city of West Covina.

The West Covina Police Department responded to a shooting at approximately 8:45 p.m. Sunday at Big Bob’s Liquor & Market located in the 1400 block of West Puente Avenue, according to the West Covina PD.

When officers arrived at the location, they discovered a 34-year-old clerk suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital, but did not survive, reported the West Covina PD in a press release of the incident.

“It appears two males entered the store and stole merchandise. The victim confronted the men at which time a shooting occurred. The two men are believed to have fled in a vehicle,” stated the press release.

The incident is under active investigation. No additional information is currently available from detectives regarding the suspects or suspect vehicle description.
