Child Struck by Vehicle in Front of Elementary School in Lancaster

LANCASTER, CA, Oct. 13 (KNN) — Shortly after 3:30 p.m. Friday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to a collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of East Avenue K-2 and Challenger Way in the city of Lancaster.

Upon arrival of deputies at the Jack Northrop Elementary School, they discovered a minor had been hit by a vehicle.

The pediatric patient sustained injuries and was rushed to Antelope Valley Medical Center by AMR ambulance and the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

It is unknown if the vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene. Deputies were heard inquiring about the school’s cameras.

Lancaster deputies cordoned off the street with yellow tape and secured the area for their investigation.

There are no further details available at this time.
